Since 1959, a large number of Tibetan refugees have been living in Nepal. The number has gone up to twenty thousand now. Pokhara is the main place for settlement of the refugees; most of them live is various settlements around Pokhara. Two small Tibetan settlements, Tashi Ling and Paijorling are located near Devi’s Fall and sabhagriha chowk respectively. The largest tibetan settlement, called Tashi Palikhel, is at Hemja on the Baglung highway, which is about 9 km from lakeside.
